Piran gets its first trolleybus in 1909
In Slovenian history, there were only two operational trolleybuses: in Piran and Ljubljana. On this day, in 1909, Piran received the first trolleybus to run on the approximately 5-kilometre-long line between Piran's Tartini Square and the railway station in present-day Lucija.

Tadej Pogačar won Tour de France 2020

Planica zipline opened in 2015

Slovenian national basketball team won EuroBasket Championship 2017
On September 17 2017, in the nail-biting final fight of Eurobasket in Istanbul, the Slovenian national basketball team defeated Serbia 93:85 and became the European champion. Captain Goran Dragić was chosen as the most valuable player of the championship, and Luka Dončić was ranked in the top five of the tournament.
