Čeferin was elected the seventh President of UEFA in 2016
On September 14, 2016, the president of the Football Association of Slovenia, Aleksander Čeferin, received 42 votes at the UEFA Electoral Congress in Athens and became president of this prestigious institution. He thus became one of the six Europeans to receive this honour.
